Winnie Truong works with drawing and animation to explore ideas of identity, feminism, and fantasy to find connections and transgressions in the natural wold. Challenging the ideals of beauty and naturalness, she develops intricate, figurative, and ambiguous collage-based work.
Truong holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Ontario College of Art and Design (2010). She has exhibited widely across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Her work is represented internationally in private and public collections including the Canada Council Art Bank, Ottawa, the Doris McCarthy Gallery at the University of Toronto, The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas, and the Bank of Denmark, Copenhagen among others. Truong lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.
