Joerg Dressler at CAM
Rivalry is thrilled to share that Joerg Dressler, American Falls, 2018, a recent acquisition of the Castellani Art Museum, is now on view in 'Looking Into Other Worlds: Works from the Permanent Collection', from September 19, 2024 - September 8, 2025.
Dressler's American Falls is paired with two works by Amos Sangster from his famed series of etchings - Niagara River and Falls from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Begun in 1879, this series of 153 etchings was dedicated to his friend Grover Cleveland, the 22nd & 24th President of the United States, and traced the entire 36-mile course of the river. Sangster, known as the painter of the Niagara Frontier, was a Canadian-born artist who made Buffalo, New York his home.
