Year in Review 2023

As we come to the end of 2023, Rivalry has so much to reflect on and celebrate. This year we mounted 6 exhibitions in the gallery, with presentations by Deborah Oropallo & Andy Rappaport, Hannah Secord Wade, Barbara Bosworth & Emily Sheffer, Nando Alvarez-Perez, and Clifford Prince King & Ryan Patrick Krueger, along with our largest exhibition to date, collective selection / selective collection, that was curated by Camilø Álvårez and included over 40 artists.

We also mounted 4 exhibitions in our project space, with Lucy Helton & Jason E Geistweidt, David Hilliard, and Leonardo Kaplan, along with Lovesick, a group exhibition of over 20 artists that considered the nuances of love. 

The gallery participated in 3 art fairs - Barely Fair Chicago, Art Toronto, and Untitled Art Miami - and celebrated our first institutional acquisition in the fall. All together we exhibited and supported the work of over 70 international artists.  We are thankful to everyone who has been a part of our year!

The gallery will be closed for the holidays starting on Saturday, December 23. We will reopen on Friday, January 12 and kick off the year with a reception for the opening of Joan Linder: Belly from 5:00-9:00pm.
